French Onion Soup

This traditional and classic onion soup which originates from Paris, France way back the 18th century is made from broth and caramelized onion basically, which was considered as food for the poor is now accepted as a beautiful and appealing dish for all

Makes 2 Servings

Ingredients :
2 tablespoons Fat
100g Onion
2 bayleaves
1/2 teaspoons garlic, blended
Flour, for tossing
100ml Red wine
Broth
Salt and pepper

Directions:
1. Heat fat, add onion and caramelize nicely
2. Add bayleaves and stir
3. Add garlic. Stir. Toss with flour and stir again
4. Add red wine, stock/broth, then season with salt and pepper. Stir
5. Bring to simmer for 5 minutes

Serve with gratinated bread
